Hello and welcome to Arkansas Library Association's Centennial website. We are celebrating 100 years of supporting Arkansas' academic, public, school, and special libraries. In the past 100 years the association has had many successes; we established a state library commission, began an association publication, established salary guidelines, supported the continuing education of librarians, and protected intellectual freedom. For all this and more, we would like to thank those that made these great strides possible.
Our 421 member libraries continue to contribute to the association. Their donations of time, leadership, scholarship, and financial assistance has helped the Arkansas Library Association continue to be the foundation of all Arkansas libraries. While the association is rooted in history, the continued growth in knowledge is important to the association; we welcome change that increases efficiency and helps us distribute information with the public. The association shares new ideas and developments in librarianship through our publication, Arkansas Libraries, and our Annual Conference.
If you work in an Arkansas library and are not part of the association, we would like to invite you to become part of an outstanding organization that has supported Arkansas libraries for 100 years. Click for a membership form.
Thanks to Ron Russ, Eli Murray, and Jason Crader for the great pictures!
